This time last month, I was getting ready to escape to Miami for Mom 2.0, a blogging conference which was held in Miami, FL at the Ritz Carlton. Upon arrival at Miami airport, my roomies and I hopped in a cab and told the driver to take us to the Ritz. It was taking longer than expected and the smarter blogger of the group was following our route on Google maps (she’s wicked smaht.) She noticed we were way off track and she spoke up, reiterating, “The Ritz? Key Biscayne…” His reply, “OHHHH, bleep. I thought you said the BEACH.” The beach? Which beach? Where were we really headed? I think Miami has quite a few beaches. Sorta weird with all of our luggage.
Well, we finally got there and I was greeted with a tall glass of bubbly upon arrival. It made everything all better. We made it to the white party.
Minus the little rollaway bed snafu (we finally got one), our accommodations were lovely. Comfy beds, a huge bathroom, superb water pressure and wi-fi access. What more can a blogger ask for? Well, maybe some swag. We finally got our room drops of goodies after a few phone calls. They made it up to us with fruit and cheese.
The lobby is gorgeous, as are the hotel grounds. I really enjoyed my extra day in paradise, sitting by the adult pool. I got to experience breakfast and brunch at Cioppino twice, thanks to Shot@Life and The Minute Clinic ~ thanks for the delicious food, friends. Eating at Cioppino was certainly a highlight of my weekend away.
The beach was lovely too, but not as lovely as some. There was a bit too much seaweed for my liking, but I did go in the ocean because I’m cool like that. When in Miami….
I love traveling and I need to travel more; be it with my family or on my own to blogging conferences. Seeing the world and making new friends is fun. Sipping Bellinis and chilling at The Versace Mansion wasn’t really that bad either. Maybe next time I’ll set aside some time for the spa. Until next time.
