“Alright my Little Bird, you ready to hit the road!?” I say looking in my rear-view mirror at my 9month old little girl. While I know she has no idea what Im talking about, or the adventure we are embarking upon I know that this is the first of MANY road trips she and I will be taking over the years, all in our awesome Chevy Equinox. We had specific things we were looking for in a car…
– We wanted a smaller SUV.
– Wanted a great car that can handle snowy, rainy weather which we got with our all-wheel drive.
– It has a spacious back seat, with great leg room & LOVE how you can take leg room and add trunk space if you want!
– Great bluetooth phone speaker (which I use CONSTANTLY!)
– Love the AUX for my ipod so I can sing to my little girl while rockin’ out to the Rolling Stones!
But, to be honest, almost as important to those great features was that we bought American. My husband is part of a “GM-Family” for 50+ years. His Father, Aunt, Uncle, and Grandfather all worked for GM in Ohio and he wanted us to continue to support the company that helped his family put food on the table, provide healthcare to him and his brothers, and allowed his father to save enough money to send him to college! So after researching, test driving (in the snow mind you) many different makes, models, and companies we ultimately stuck to what we felt was the best fit for us… our beloved Equinox!
So there we were, My baby girl and I, with the car loaded up tight with a stroller, pack n play, toys, clothes, food, swim raft, sun hats, and more… off, alone, but together to visit her beloved “Mommaz” out in the Hamptons.
