Wow, I had big plans for 2012. Didn’t I? We traveled. That counts, right? I’m still making piles and drinking wine. I’m a complete failure at most things and you should really see my laundry room…
Oh well. Things could be worse.
It was a great year, really. There was a trip to Nashville with Dollops that will go down in the books as the MAC Tools Convention of a lifetime. I found a really amazing friend in Nashville. Actually, I think I found her on that tiny airplane.
The whole family flew down to FL in April to stay with Nana and Pat and visit Legoland.
Let’s not forget going out on a real limb with Jodi and Charlene and flying to Miami for Mom 2.0.
Then there was BlogHer ’12 in NYC. Whoa Nelly.
And an amazing wedding in San Diego, CA with my favorite MIT frat boys.
And a week on the Cape with the Stow clan.
Traveling is definitely more fun than folding laundry. I think I nailed it.
So what do I want to do in 2013?
- I wanna have one last baby. Even though I’m scared shitless of what my body might do to me and how I’ll seem like an old fart parent to baby #4, it’s still on my list. I enjoyed my old fart parents a lot. I’m glad they had me, mistake or not.
- I wanna spend another week on Cape Cod this summer with my favorite people.
- I wanna make it to Master’s +30 on the teacher pay scale.
- I wanna run another 5K. Hmmmm. That might be tough. I did run 2 miles today, I’ll have you know.
- I wanna laugh a lot. I love laughing.
- I wanna go to some concerts. (Thank GOD I have the tickets purchased) Backward planning at its finest.
- I wanna frame some photographs.
- I wanna make new friends.
- I wanna cheer on Aidan on the soccer field.
- I wanna be a better wife, mother, sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, cousin, niece, friend, all of it.
- I wanna have more date nights.
What about you? Let’s hear it.
I love your list for 2013 … it’s the small things we overlook. I’d really like to go through my entire digital album of pictures and get prints for everything from 2012. I think that’s a goal that would take me a few months.
Photos. The death of me. Happy New Year, Cat!
Annie, I think you did great on your list. Okay, I’m sure the clean car was a bust, and drinking less wine was not only unrealistic, but a completely misguided resolution. Wine is good for you, and good for your family, who gets to see fun, tipsy mommy. You’re still my hero. I’m sure you’ll be even better in 2013. And, if you want to talk about fogey parents, I’m here to set your mind at ease. We were 38 and forty-f*****g-seven when we had our one and only. Just putting into perspective for you, kiddo!
Happy 2013!
God, I love you. Get well, would ya?
Thanks for sharing! This has me thinking about what I hope to accomplish in 2013. I love how you have both big and small items on your list. So funny you mention concerts – its been several yrs since my last show (does the NKOTB reunion tour count??) I may have to add this 🙂
NKOTB definitely counts!!! I used to be in love with Joey McIntyre! Happy New Year Jessica!
I think you rocked it in 2012 and I look forward to all that 2013 has to offer with you by my side!
Aw, thanks, Dollops. I can’t wait to take some more ridiculously fun photos with your in 2013!
I love the list. Can you imagine running the 5K pregnant? Two in one!
I’d definitely need some Depends! Nope, can’t imagine! Happy New Year, Nicole!
Looks like you had an awesome 2012. Hoping your 2013 is even better! xoxo
Great list! Looks like you had a good 2011!
