We put yogurt on hold after he tried a baby food pouch which contained greek yogurt at about 7 months. He had it in the evening hours and the next morning I got a projectile, smelly, white, massive puke all over the master bedroom. Lingering dairy problem or coincidence? Let’s hold off on that yogurt, right?
Besides, why is yogurt an ingredient in baby food if they don’t recommend it until our babies are 9 months old anyway? Confusing!
So I waited and waited on re-introducing yogurt, especially since Andrew has had a tough go with other dairy products other than breastmillk. We waited until he was just about 11 months old. His little digestive system seems to be working just fine and he can now handle it – no more itchy eyes or sneezing and congestion. In fact, he just about loves his Stonyfield Organic Yobaby! The first year can be such a doozie. From reflux, to dairy intolerances, to happy spitters, to allergic reactions – parenting is a real crap chute sometimes!
Have you given your baby yogurt yet? At what age did you introduce it? I’m so glad Andrew is finally able to tolerate it!
*Disclosure: I received free yogurt from Stonyfield to take part in this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
