As a mother of four, I’ve seen and used a lot of strollers in my day. The Step and Go Travel System by Safety 1st has pleasantly surprised me. I’m a minimalist, a lover of the old Snap N Go frame, so I had my doubts. This thing has so much to offer moms and dads! Holy heck, I’m so excited to tell you about it!
First of all, the infant car seat clicks right into the stroller with a pair of simple, easy to locate retractible pegs on each side that act as the locking mechanism – there are no crazy straps or anything. Once the baby is in, that’s it! And one quick squeeze from the back of the seat to get the baby out. Grandparents and nannies will have no problem figuring any of it out!
Secondly, holy huge canopy. This is my favorite feature. The canopy on both, the car seat and the stroller are GIGANTIC. They nest into each other, forming a huge protective cover for your baby – it’s like a little cocoon, perfect for long sleeps and peaceful strolls, protecting your little one from noise, sun, wind and all of it! When you use each of them individually, the canopies are still HUGE. Safety 1st has gone above and beyond with the canopy. OBSESSED and HAPPY about this feature. Chris says so many companies skimp on the size of the canopy, but it turns out to be one of the most important features for day to day use. He’s SO RIGHT.
Now let’s get straight to it – this really is the easiest stroller to open. I can’t EVEN get over the foot pedal. So picture yourself with one kid on your hip, or something else in your hand. With most strollers, you wouldn’t be able to open it without a pair of free hands. The Step and Go solves that problem by having a foot pedal that not only unlocks the clip, but opens the stroller to its fully standing and locked position. HOLY HECK! The whole stroller literally pops right up in seconds (without needing to unlock any latches or catches!). Ok, maybe THIS is our favorite feature! AMAZING!
The Step and Go also has a super convenient lift to fold feature that only requires one hand! You simply pull on the tab with one hand andy the stroller is in the stand up position for an easy toss in the back of the car. We’ve had other strollers with this feature and it’s been a lifesaver. Watch me fold and open the stroller in the video below.
Let’s be serious, when your baby is fussing and you’re trying to get home from Target with all of your bundles you weren’t supposed to buy and it’s past everyone’s nap time, no one has time (or extra hands) for messing around with strollers. This thing is a lifesaver. You need to tell your friends about this – especially since I’m giving one away right here to one lucky reader at Stowed Stuff!
