When Nana comes to visit, breakfast is way more fun around here. She whips up chocolate chip pancakes for the kids’ breakfast the night before, having her batter ready first thing in the morning. Funny enough, Nana’s pancakes are a huge family tradition with all of her grandkids. Nana’s chocolate chip pancakes were my favorite thing to have for breakfast when I was a kid too.
You know what I’m good at? Frozen pancakes. During the week, there’s just NO time for fancy fun in the kitchen. The kids usually make out with a bagel or a bowl of cereal before school because there just isn’t enough time amongst all the crazy around here. I know, how boring. Breakfast shouldn’t ALWAYS be so boring.
We love to switch things up on weekend mornings when we have a smidgen of extra time. And let’s face it, I’m not best cook in this house. So if I’m cooking breakfast, it’s gotta be easy, fun and delicious.
The Stow Kids LOVE it when I buy anything Pillsbury, but Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls hot out of the oven make us all go crazy. You know what I’m talking about, right? You’ve smelled that warm, puffy, cinnamon indulgence puffing up in your oven. Owen is my big helper around here, so he loves helping mommy drizzle on the icing. Let’s not forget licking our fingers after that final bite; we just can’t help ourselves. And there’s usually bickering over who will get the last one.
I first introduced Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls to the kids as a Christmas morning tradition, but sometimes I still find myself surprising them with a cinnamon roll breakfast on a typical Saturday morning. We love them even more when we’re least expecting them and it usually involves a laid back cup of coffee for me and some cartoons for the kids before getting their soccer gear on. I love a cinnamon roll Saturday morning!
Andrew’s just beginning to discover Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls. What a lucky boy. So far, so good. Looks like he’s a fan too.
