Fevers, runny noses, birthday parties, classrooms, playdates – no matter where you go this fall, you’re running into sickness. You might hear the sneezes, see the hankies, notice the sniffles. If you’re like us, you just can’t afford to even THINK about getting sick again this fall.
When one child gets sick, it means absenteeism from school. My kids probably hate missing school more than I hate having them home sick with me! Plus, when one goes down, we’re just waiting around to see who will be next. It’s a vicious cycle.
This year, Lysol has teamed up with football legend Jerry Rice to remind parents and kids everywhere about some healthy habits we can all use to keep sickness away.
3 Easy Steps to Keep Us Healthy
- Rest Up! Kids should be getting 8-10 hours of sleep to ensure they are fully functioning at school for a full day of learning!
- Make Time for Fitness! Don’t forget yo incorporate daily physical activity to keep kids fit and healthy. Opt for a family hike or outside play over video games.
- The Twenty Second Rule – part of our daily routine is to constantly wash our hands, but sometimes the kids fail to remember the Twenty Second Rule! Are they washing their hands long enough to kill those nasty germs? From the lunchroom to the playground, proper hand washing etiquette should last a full twenty seconds – just long enough to sing the “Happy Birthday Song” twice from beginning to end. Twenty seconds, people!
We’re really hoping to stay healthy this year as much as possible. Classroom teachers, parents, grandparents and kids just need to remember that proper hand washing etiquette and keeping hands away from the face is a HUGE help in staying healthy.
Did you know that Lysol recently won a Reader’s Digest ‘Most Trusted Brand’ award in the cleaning category? Gotta love that. Disinfecting surfaces with Lysol wipes is definitely a familiar routine around here. I’m loving this new creamy vanilla orchid antibacterial hand wash.
Avoid cold and flu this season with Lysol. It kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria on hard surfaces, providing additional protection for your family.
