I’ve seen a few shows in my lifetime.
This is the one that I love best.
Oh MY Lord, guys. I was screamin’ and hollerin’ and hootin’ and STANDING UP ON MY FEET at the end of the first half! And I have never seen a standing ovation at the Wang before – and that, my friends, was so amazing to be a part of. Those guys deserved it! Just brilliant!
My mom and sister had seen Riverdance on Broadway with Michael Flatley back in 1996, but I didn’t get to go – you know, freshman year of college and things. But they said that Riverdance 20 was better than the first. Of course it’s the same sentimental story of my mom’s homeland and why so many had to leave – but the new little additions that the producers put together in the second half of the show were ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT.
I was tweeting at the lead dancers immediately after the show and following them all on Instagram. I am slightly obsessed and would like to become a RIVERDANCE groupie. Anyone care to join me?
This show is OUTSTANDING in every way – the dancing is out of this world, the acoustics of all the hard shoes is simply perfect and those kids really can fly and know how to work an audience, while still telling a story on stage. The musicians were out of control too – such a simple and small talented few – just incredible that all the dancing was happening to the beats of their live music.
Emily missed this show because she had dance. It killed me to not be able to take her. She will see this show. She will.
