We have had such a great summer! We really enjoyed traveling together and got to explore some really fun places. For awhile, I thought the kids were going to say that Cape Cod was their favorite place we went. But as it turns out, the time we spent at Myrtle Beach was their top pick.
But now the calendar has turned to September and we’re gearing up for back to school. The back to school re-entry can be really rough for my kids (trust me…. I know from experience)!
Here are a few things I’m doing to inspire them!
- I’m hiding my sadness that summer is over! I know my kids pick up on my vibe, so I’m keeping my feelings to myself.
- We made a back to school bucket list filled with a few fun things to do during the first month of school. We kept it simple like visiting our favorite ice cream spot and playground. The after school hustle doesn’t leave much time, but we can make a few fun things happen.
- School supplies! Everyone loves getting new school supplies! Office Depot® OfficeMax® never disappoint us!
- We’ve already planned what we’re going to do on some of our long weekends!
Recently, I asked my kids what I did. I was so curious to know how they view me! Here are their answers.
Emily: My mom is a blogger and YouTuber. First, she was a teacher for a really long time. We make a new vlog every day, you should see how excited she gets when we get new subscribers. I’m a dancer and she’s the best at doing my hair and make up.
Aidan: My mom is a vlogger and she does a lot of video editing. She also tells terrible jokes she thinks are really funny. But best of all, she’s really good at telling bedtime stories and snuggling up.
Owen: My mom tells really awesome jokes. She makes really great Mac and Cheese and sometimes she makes me clean up all the toys in the family room. She loves my dad. I think it’s gross when they kiss.
Andrew: My mom is my best friend.
I love these kids. We had the best summer ever, but I really am excited for all the new beginnings they’re about to embark on next week. New school, new grades, new teachers, new friends. We’re all inspiring each other around here to do great things.
