Andrew Stow, age 4, loves a good drive-thru meal. He also likes quality time spend with mom, one-on-one. He often asks, “Can you take me to Wendy’s?” With four kids and what seems like endless daily activities this fall, he sometimes gets his way. Our fall activities include 3 separate days of CCD, fall baseball, flag football and dance! Not to mention, all of my fall jewelry parties! Life is busy at the Stow house, as I’m sure you all can relate! So when I asked him, “Do you want to go to Wendy’s for lunch and eat in?” he got all all excited!
Making good food choices when we’re on the go can be tough though, especially when I’m trying to be good! We recently stopped in to taste Wendy’s Harvest Chicken Salad and I could NOT believe just how yummy it was! Andrew was happy with his nuggets and fries, but I was SO happy with my fresh green, topped with chicken, hearty vegetables and bacon. This is Wendy’s first ever fall salad and it’s well worth a trip!
I opted for the half-size portion and it hit the spot! Andrew could tell I liked it. “You’re eating leaves! How much good is it?” I told him it had bacon in it and he immediately understood what I was talking about. Wendy’s Harvest Chicken Salad is built on a mix of fresh romaine, crisp iceberg and spring mix. It’s then topped with warm grilled chicken, savory Applewood smoked bacon, feta cheese and sweet slices of red and green apples. I loved the mix of the sweet apples and the salty bacon! It’s the perfect fall lunch or dinner and delivers over 2 cups of fruits and veggies! The salad comes with a side packet of brown sugar walnuts and Marzetti® Simply Dressed® Apple Cider Vinaigrette, which topped my salad off perfectly. I still can’t get over the perfect combination of salty sweet and crunch! This salad has a great crunch factor! So fresh!
Clearly, the leaves are changing, but Wendy’s commitment to quality has not changed one bit! We’re getting a new Wendy’s up the road very soon and I can’t wait to test it out! I know I’ll be getting this salad AGAIN! Andrew will want his kids’ meal and a Frosty, I’m sure of it, but every busy mom and dad needs to try Wendy’s Harvest Chicken Salad!
